Repair and Restoration
With over 25 years experience in doll/ teddy bear restoration and repairs, you know your little friend is in safe hands.
Follow our simple steps below to get started. If you have any further questions please see our FAQ section or alternatively you can contact us here.
Recommended Wrapping Guidelines
Please read the following guidelines for wrapping dolls, bears and other objects to send to us.
Wrapping Dolls
Doll's mechanical eyes are particularly prone to breakage during house moves or shipping. Eyes that open and close need to be secured by placing cotton wool over each eye (in the open or closed position) and taping around the head with tape that doesn't damage the dolls hair or permanently mark the surface of the doll's head. If the head is off the doll then please stuff the head to avoid damage to the eyes.
Use twice the volume of the doll in bubble wrap to make sure she doesn't bounce around in a box. If you can find a stout cardboard box then put the wrapped doll in it and send it special delivery to us.
We do NOT recommend putting your doll in a box surrounded by polystyrene beads. This is because the doll will make its way to the bottom of the box during transit and won't have any protection from the Post Office throwing it about.
Wrapping Teddy Bears and Animals
Any bear with movable joints and glass eyes can be damaged in transit if not wrapped carefully. Make sure that the animal's head is wrapped well by putting cotton wool over the eyes and taping around the head with tape that won't damage the fur. Then wrap the animal in twice its volume of bubble wrap and send it to us special deliver. Please make sure that you constrain the limbs if they are jointed if you are posting it in a box.
